Kretzschmar, Healy are Dick Howser Trophy National Players of the Month
The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association has named its Dick Howser Trophy Players of the Month for April, presented by The Game Headwear, tabbing Cal outfielder Kade Kretzschmar its national player of the month and Duke’s Andrew Healy its national pitcher of the month.

The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) released its Dick Howser Trophy National Player of the Week awards presented by The Game Headwear for the period ending April 16. California senior outfielder Kade Kretzschmar was named National Hitter of the Week, while Rutgers freshman right-handed pitcher Christian Coppola and Oregon junior right-handed pitcher Jace Stoffal were named National Co-Pitchers of the Week.

After his team was scheduled to be discontinued after the 2011 season, California head coach David Esquer led the Golden Bears to the program's first appearance at the NCAA College World Series since 1992, while earning him the National Coach of the Year Award presented by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association.
